Happy New Year! 2025 is a year that will forever mean the world to all of us at Waiting…, for it’s our year of beginnings. From our first conversations about what a magazine for artists in the service industry would even look like to launching our third edition, it’s been a year of firsts for the books. Over 250 pages of print media span across the three editions that each, in their own way, show the lessons we’ve learned and ones we have yet to master. We’re so grateful for the past nine months of growing and loving the ride, and we can’t wait to take on this new year.

As Edition Three begins to pop up in stores across New York City and our subscribers get their prints in the mail, there’s one thing you need to make sure you have under control in 2026: how to read Waiting Magazine. We have our thoughts on where, when, and in which position it’s best to crack upon any edition of our mag, but to make things a little easier, our illustrator Sara Kashani-Sabet has drawn some options for your consideration.
