Our first edition features Lainey Mackinnon and Noah Ginsburg, two artists working on Manhattan's Upper East Side. Mackinnon, a Florida native, auditions for film and stage acting roles on her days off from waiting tables. Ginsburg, a singer-songwriter from Virginia, sings and bartends at a piano bar while building a rock band and finding his sound. In addition, we interview Winnie Chiu, a large-scale abstract painter, about the relationship she's cultivated with her bartending gig and her hunt for gallery exposure. Kurt Cadet, a podcast host and Hip Hop enthusiast, talks about the highs and lows of co-hosting a weekly commentary on sports and music while working at a restaurant in the West Village. Elise Petersen, a singer-songwriter working at a cafe in Soho, tells us her favorite places in the city to perform her fresh songs. Rounding out our six artists, Fabian Bolivar gives us the scoop on DJing at exclusive basement raves when he's not making coffees in the Lower East Side.

Edition I also includes a satirical essay about what artists should expect when visiting their friends at their day job, and how to digest things like dental coverage, PTO and free coffee. Our centerfold spread is an illustration piece of our own server take on "What's in my bag?"
